She enjoys working with research approaches such as implementation science and practice-based research, and collaborating with clinicians and educators. Her research interests include rural health, new clinician practices, virtual delivery, telehealth, ehealth and mobile health. Her PhD research looked at implementing telehealth innovations in speech pathology, psychology, and parent education within BUSHkids, a not-for-profit community organisation for regional and remote families. Jess has worked clinically in comprehensive assessment and therapy with people with aphasia and in school-based speech pathology. Jess worked in arts writing and administration and teaching English as a second language before completing a Master of Speech Language Pathology at the University of Sydney. Jess is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, research speech pathologist and speech pathology researcher. David and Emerita Professor Linda Worrall developed the Aphasia LIFT program that is the basis for the new CHAT program which is a key priority of QARC.ĭr Jessica Campbell, Postdoctoral Researcher He currently leads three NHMRC trials on aphasia recovery and is Co-Director of the NHMRC Aphasia CRE where he leads the Neurobiological and Psychosocial Predictors of the Recovery Program. His research also aims to improve aphasia management through testing principles of neuroplasticity and understanding the neurobiological basis of language recovery and treatment using neuroimaging.ĭavid received the inaugural NHMRC Research Excellence Award as Australia’s top-ranked NHMRC Clinical Career Development Fellow. David’s research seeks to improve outcomes for people with aphasia through the development of new assessments and treatments and identifying better predictors of recovery and treatment response. David is a Speech Pathologist and Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
